How to reach Urbania For those who come from European countries - and for whoever it is possible - you are advised to come to Urbania with your own transport in order to enjoy, better than with public transport, URBANIA's marvellous surrounding areas: the natural beauty (the countryside, the sea, mountains and hills) and the nearby historical and artistic places of interest. The sea is an hour away by car; Assisi, Perugia, Arezzo, Ancona at less than 2 hours; Ravenna, Florence and Siena at less than 3 hours, etc. Arrivals are foreseen for the Saturday that precedes the start of the course (for different days contact the school directly) urbania@centrostuditaliani.org). The
accommodation in URBANIA is available from 18.00 hours on the Saturday
that precedes the start of the course. The course starts on Monday morning
at 09.00 hours. AIRPORTS The nearest airports to Urbania are those of RIMINI (Tel. 0541-715711), ANCONA-FALCONARA (http://www.ancona-airport.it/) and BOLOGNA (http://www.bologna-airport.it/). Intercontinental flights only arrive at Rome or Milan airports. Those who come from the U.S.A. and Canada are advised to land in MILAN (http://www.sea-aeroportimilano.it/) and continue on to PESARO by train (see below). From Australia it is only possible to land in ROME (http://www.adr.it/it/). RAILWAYS If you come by air or by train, plan to arrive in Pesaro on the Saturday before the start of the course, and take the bus that leaves from the railway station at 16.50 hours which goes directly to URBANIA. Upon arrival in URBANIA (approx. 18.10 hours) you will find a person from your accommodation or someone from the school who will accompany you. If you are unable to catch this bus, take the first one leaving for URBINO and then take the connection for URBANIA or otherwise a taxi. In any event, if you are late, advise the family where you are to be accommodated. From Rome: Take the "Bucci" bus that leaves at 07.30 hours or at 16.00 hours in front of the Tiburtina station for URBINO. The first one arrives in Urbino at about 12.40 hours. From Urbino take the first bus that leaves for URBANIA, or a taxi. If you take the second bus, get off at ACQUALAGNA (13 km. from Urbania), but before leaving telephone the family where you are to be accommodated or the school to arrange to be picked up. If you are unable to catch the bus that leaves from ROME, take the ANCONA-FALCONARA train, where you must change and then continue on to PESARO. From Pesaro: Take the bus that leaves at 16.45 hours, in front of the railway station, for URBANIA (arrival in Urbania at about 18.00). On Saturday evening, when this bus arrives, there will be your hosts and someone from the school to meet and greet you. From Milan or Bologna: Take the train for PESARO (Ancona-Bari line). From Pesaro to Urbania as above. From Florence: Take the train for Arezzo and then the "Bucci" bus to URBANIA, which leaves from the station square at 15.00 hours on Mondays and on Fridays. On other days of the week one may take the train route which goes to Firenze/Bologna/Pesaro (from Pesaro to Urbania see the above instructions).
