The Centro Studi Italiani Opera
Festival is pleased to announce that it will be organizing a special
course of Opera Barocca during its annual festival. This will be an
important aspect of our Festival and we hope it will develop and become
of international interest for all specialists and lovers of Opera
Barocca.
The Venue
The course will be held in the
Marche Region (Central Italy) in
Urbania and
Mercatello sul Metauro.
This is an area particularly rich in history and culture, musical and
operatic traditions and with a large number of small theatres ideal for
operatic performances. Several festival are held in the Marche: the
festival dell'Arena Sferisterio in
Macerata, the
Rossini Opera
Festival in Pesaro (ROF), the Festival of
Musica Antica di
Urbino. However, this programme of Opera Barocca is unique and
will certainly fill a gap in this field in Italy.
