SEMESTER ABROAD IN URBANIA, ITALY
Spring: 13th January - 4th May 2008
Fall: 23th August - 13th December 2008
All American and Canadian universities and colleges can send students to this program. Their students can receive credits either giving students credit or through Millikin University.
Many American Universities and university systems have summer, or longer, study campuses in Italy and some Italian Universities such as Perugia offer substantial programs for foreign students. American students can often take these studies for credit towards their degree. Many of these programs are excellent but they do suffer from the disadvantage that the non-Italian student group is large and the participants can be relatively isolated from direct experience of the realities and dynamics of Italian life and culture. It is for this reason that the Centro Studi Italiani has designed a course of study in Italian language, culture and craftsmanship that may well be of interest to American and Canadian students. Our program is made to order so we can give close tutorial attention to each person and we tailor our teaching of Italian to the specific opportunities and problems of learning from different backgrounds. We offer housing either with host families or in furnished apartments. Our aim is for our students to experience Italian life amidst the Italians.
