カルロ・アメディオ・パゾットによ
って設立されました。
それ以来120を超える国の学生を受
け入れています。 ウルバニアは素敵
なところです。観光客でごったがえ
している街とは異なり、おだやかで
安全な街です。豊富な芸術・歴史
も恵まれています。
外国人が少ないため、イタリア人
の 友人を作ったり、イタリア語
を話す
機会を得るには最適です。

文化コースをおこなっています。通
常コースは週25時間あり(他の多く
の学校は週20時間です)、イタリ
ア 文化や会話のための特別プロ
グラム があり、それらは全て授
業料金に含 まれています。
この他に美術史やイ タリア伝統料理
などのさまざまなコ ースも用意され
ています。

International partnerships

Two important facts prove the good name of  the Centro Studi Italiani throughout the world:
1) students have come to us from over 100 different countries and from all continents
(70% have been recommended to come  by ex-course members);
2) the quality and quantity of our international collaborations.

In 1988 the Centro Studi Italiani started to collaborate with the Oberlin School of Music, Oberlin College, Ohio, U.S.A.. This collaboration lasted for 19 years. The program "Oberlin in Italy", for American opera students, started in  Urbania. Professors and students from other American music conservatories  participated in this programme.  The photo below shows the  June1999 group.


For 14 years, from 1989 summer programmes were held in Italian for international students from the  Pontificio Collegio Urbano "De Propaganda Fide". Today these courses are called Preparatory courses for Papal Universities, and are attended by theology students from other pontifical colleges of the Vatican City and by religious from different parts of the world.  In the photo, one of these groups in the courtyard of the Centro Studi Italiani


University of South Carolina

Since 1990 we have been collaborating with the University of South Carolina (U.S.A.), with their IMBA program (International Master of Business Administration) with the Darla Moore School of Business.

1991 – 1997 Important collaboration with the  CIS-Heinemann publishing company in  Melbourne, Australia, for the text book and other teaching materials "CI SIAMO".
 This is a text book for teaching ltalian to foreigners.

Ci Siamo

1993: Joan Patenaude-Yarnell  started her special program  for opera singers entitled  Centro Studi Italiani in New York, which lasted 11 years.  Professors and students from the Manhattan School of Music in New York, and the Curtis Institute of Philadelphia participated.   Also professors and students from the Juilliard

1995-1997: program for foreign opera singers directed by Carlos Montan é, professor at the School of Music, Indiana University, U.S.A.

In 2000, creating the CENTRO STUDI ITALIANI OPERA FESTIVAL, there are now many more opportunities for new International collaboartions in the world of opera and Italian music.

Centro Studi Italiani Opera Festival


From July 2000, for 5 years,there was collaboration between the American teachers  Brygida Bziukiewicz and Kathryn Hartgrove and the Centro Studi Italiani Opera Festival. Their program for International opera singers, called "La Musica Lirica Italiana,  started in Urbania.

Ci Siamo

In the  same year the program “Chamber Music in Urbania” was started. This was a program for young English  instrumentalists and singers directed by Sheila Luxon which lasted 4 years.

University of Leicester

In 2001 the Centro Studi Italiani was accredited as “tutorial support centre” by the University of Leicester (G.B.) for their management courses.

2004 – 2008: special group of International singers directed by  Professor Sebastian Vittucci, University of Music in Vienna, called Voce e Bel Canto.

2004 – 2005: “Stage combat, special program of stage combat for theater, television and cinema actors, with the participation of Tony Wolf.

2004 – 2005: collaboration with the Chinese Musicians Association for the program Lirica italiana per la Cina, which took place in Urbania. Since 2006 this program has continued, directed by Professor Song Yi, in collaboration with the China Conservatory of Beijing.

In September  2004 a program for young Japanese singers was held, entitled Lingua e lirica italiana, directed by Cecilia Mieko Hata (University of the Arts of Nagoya, Japan).

Millikin University

Since 2006 there has been a program for young American singers from Millikin University, IL, USA, directed by Susan Schroeder Cobb.

In May 2007 there was a program for young singers from Concordia University, MN, USA.

Since 2007there is a program entitled “Si parla, si canta”, directed by Benton Hess (Eastman School of Music, NY, USA) for international singing students and young artists.

Also in 2007  the program Musica nelle Marche started, directed  Linda Hirt (DePaul University, IL, USA) for young American singing students.

2008: the  Programma Barocco was started, directed by  Pamela Lucciarini, for Italian and International baroque music students.
